Location: home woods & Sunday funday paddling the St. George River
Weather: Yesterday snow, today back to our regularly scheduled weather: spring! Cool morning opened into a sunny afternoon, mid-high 40’s
Observation: Back on the St. George River today. After getting the “rust” out on our first paddle of the season last weekend, we were back at it with a small group of paddlers. We ran the river well, yet, in a random playful moment Jared and I flipped the canoe. He hung onto the canoe and headed for shore. I just kept floating down the river picking up items we lost along the way. Apparently, I kinda looked like a puffed up marshmallow, yellow marshmallow (because my dry suit is yellow). Oh to be a bird watching me. I do hope that a flock of geese are laughing about the silly human tonight.
I was reminded of how much fun it is to be on the water. Just bumping and weaving along, feeling the energy of the current. The mix of the warm sun and the very cold water. Yes, there was still snow along the banks. Far less than the week before.
