Location: Travel Pond, Jefferson, Maine
Weather: Balmy, high 60s this morning. The fog quickly fading as the hot summer sun burns through.
Observation: It’s Friday and the sizzling heat of summer is here! No complaints coming from me. No matter how slow or tough a run or hike might be. No complaints! It’s Maine, and we don’t get days like this all that often. When we do, I take every opportunity to soak in the energy of the sun and bask in the glory of the long hours of daylight. That includes taking a slightly longer commute to work to stand on my perch at the waters edge. To be just for a moment or two. To give thanks to the sun. I pause, close my eyes, and my ears perk up to the listen sounds of the birds, frogs, and fish.
I’ve referenced this place in many ways and never knew the name until today. I entered the web of information and quickly discovered this roadside accessible gem is Travel Pond in Jefferson.
