One of the things that I tried to capture was the sense of scale. There is so much beauty and I spent time standing back to take in the vastness before getting close. Sometimes so close that I was drenched with the mist of the waterfall. Walking up as far as I could just to feel the power of the mist whipping off the falls.
Iceland really overwhelmed me with the scale of the beautifully varied landscape. A landscape starkly different from home in Maine. I found myself drawn to taking moments to capture Jared in my photographs in an attempt to give my images the sense of the scale that I was experiencing in awe as we explored the landscape. Skógafoss is a well marked waterfall destination that is easily accessible with a hostel, guest house, and food onsite. Though I loved seeing the waterfall, I found myself wandering away from the lookout points of the waterfall to explore and capture the landscape that surrounded Skógafoss.
