Capturing Earth Day

Jlynn Frazier

Earth Day is one of my favorite holidays and I really think it should be a holiday for everyone. I see it as a day to encourage all to get outside to experience, explore, and preserve the world around us. It may seem a bit idyllic, but that's just how I think I guess.

I kicked off the day admiring the calm of the early morning and capturing the warmth of the light shining through the trees where I live.

I (like many) worked my typical "8 to 5" but took time to slip away at lunch to capture a bit of the day #alongmyrun. (#alongmyrun is an ongoing hashtag I use on Instagram to tag photos taken with my iPhone that are captured while running).

I ended the day enjoying dinner with friends and watched the film Planetary, which I highly recommend!

PLANETARY is a provocative and breathtaking wakeup call – a cross continental, cinematic journey, that explores our cosmic origins and our future as a species. It is a poetic and humbling reminder that now is the time to shift our perspective. PLANETARY asks us to rethink who we really are, to reconsider our relationship with ourselves, each other and the world around us – to remember that we are PLANETARY.
