Don't Delay Dog At Play

Jlynn Frazier

I missed my camera. I have been focused on moving a lot of the time this month so my free time has been a bit full for my liking. So I did what had to be done. As I arrived home from work, I left it all behind for a quick mini adventure to get James in the water after a rainstorm earlier in the day. I was ready to get outside and very curious to check out the water levels at this familiar backyard spot. With camera in hand we took off down the path from the cabin to play.

It was a beautiful hour spent splashing, creating images, and soaking in the beautiful evening landscape. One of the details that caught my eye was this small green plant reflecting in the water and the ripples in the water.

I tried a few different angles and watched the changes in the water and light. I was glad that I did not hesitate to hone in on what I was seeing and make this image because soon after this happened:

One of the hazards of the job. A very silly, energetic pup who likes to be by my side. I remember shaking my head thinking "no James" ... "wait" then I just burst out laughing as he came barreling through the water.

There is still time this week. As many are preparing to head back to school (or even started school this week), remember what a difference a mini adventure can be. I know this was certainly one of my best times of the week.
