At 5:50 a.m. we headed up the path to begin what we knew would be a full day of hiking across the Bigelow Mountain Range. It was light but the sun was low and rising. It was a cool morning and as we started to move along the trail we soaked it in quietly. Sometimes hiking is filled with conversation but times like this it was time to just get warmed up and to get lost on the trail and the anticipation of the adventure ahead.
As we got close to the top of Cranberry Peak, the first of many peaks, we stopped to pause here. This was our first sight out at the mountainous landscape. It was a beautiful morning. Our view was framed by the trees and we admired the way the sun painted strips of light enhancing the green palette.
We paused only for a few moments. Long enough to lookout, to feel the powerful energy of this endeavor, and the glorious morning welcome from this first view. It was only a few moments. Sometimes a few moments is all that it takes to make a memory and capture a moment to return to. I remember it fondly and cannot wait to hit the trail again soon.
Enjoy the week! Remember to seek moments to pause and soak it all in. The camera is a powerful tool I use to see and create a single frame. A moment to remember and share. I hope it inspires you to create, to revisit images you or others have taken, and to remember what it was like and how you felt in those moments. If you seek more of what "that" is for you... you cannot go wrong!
