A grab my camera and go kind of day spent wandering and wading in the cold spring water. I return to trails and places I know well and find myself lost in a new experience each time.
Spring hiking means no snow at the base of the mountain with varied amounts of snow (and ice) as you begin to climb and rise in elevation. On a gorgeous spring day in May we soaked in the sun and saw a view only visible for a short period of time: the very last thin sheet of ice on the pond found near the summit of Tumbledown Mountain.
Always something new to see and the transition of seasons is a great reason to get outside and start exploring!
