Pathways & Possibilities: Summer is Quite Magical

Jlynn Frazier

Friday seems to come so quickly in the summer. Summer is quite magical here in Maine and since it is a short season I have to remind myself to slow down sometimes. I guess I do this all year really. There is just so much awesome and I want to experience as much of the wild beauty that I can whether hiking, paddling, traveling, running, or most any other activity I can do.

A good story has a sense of wonder, it raises curiosity, it leaves something untold for us to gnaw on.

Here are a few links that I really enjoyed this week and hope they spark some excitement for you too!

I shared a photo of Silver Lake earlier this week in my post Ask Good Questions  and have been working on this larger panoramic view. I captured this image after a fantastic hike at Gulf Hagas, Maine USA. One of the best parts was having the trail to myself for hours of quiet exploration and creation.

SUP'ing in Maine. GoPro captured me in action. Thanks to Jared Palmer for attaching it to his board.

Pathways & Possibilities: Tell me a story, awaken my heart

Tell me you remember you are still a human being, not just a human doing...Tell me something about your heart, and awaken my heart.

How many times have do we have conversations like this? Hi friend, how are you? I'm good... really busy." Busy has become so normalized in our culture. Everyone is moving so quickly and trying to learn more about how to be more productive and get more done. There is never enough time. right? Well, yes there is only a limited amount of time in the day. We all have 24 hours to make choices about how we spend it. Busy does not equal productive!

This weekend, try to slow down and connect to someone important in your life. Being "too busy" is a choice. Here is what is "top of mind" for me this week and thought I would start it off with two stories on this notion of "too busy."  I hope you have a wonderful weekend and that these links help bring as many ideas and inspiration to you as they have for me!

I recently enjoyed a weekend adventure that took me all the way to Quoddy Head State Park in Lubec. It was my first time visiting this area which is also the easternmost point in the United States.

A highlight for me was returning to the Cutler Coast to hike and camp for a night in the backcountry. Here are two photos of the trail!
